April Showers Bring Kale Flowers

An arrogant, self-righteous food critic was recently heard spouting that kale was dead. It’s not dead. It’s just over-marketed. Admittedly, there is a plethora of kale dishes out there. So we were pleasantly surprised to find a new twist on kale at the farmer’s market ~ kale flowers. What beauties they are!! 

Determining what to do with our kale flowers, aside from placing them in a pretty vase, was easy. We found the lemons in the side garden and the spring onions also at the farmers' market. 

A quick sauté with spring onions and voila, a side dish, a main dish, or a light snack was had. How cool to be eating the flower, too.
